DYES: Starter Sets

MORDANTS
Enough of the basic mordants to experiment with. Includes: l pound alum; 4 oz each blue vitriol, copperas & cream of tartar; 1 oz each tannic acid & tin; rubber gloves, thermometer, basic instructions, and a book: "Natural Dyes & Home Dyeing". 		NATURAL DYES
A beginning set of traditional natural dyestuffs, 2 oz each brazilwood, cutch, henna, madder, osage orange; 1/2 oz each logwood extract and cochineal. (Contents may vary with availability.) And basic instructions. You will need mordants

LANASET STARTER
Six colors of dye (½ ounce each bordeaux, black, blue, red, teal, green, yellow) one pound of glauber’s salts, four ounces of sodium acetate, pH test paper, light-weight gloves, and instructions.
PROCION IMMERSION
Six colors of dye (½ ounce each of black, clear blue, fuchsia, lemon yellow, turquoise, warm red), a pound each of washing soda and urea, 2 ounces of sodium alginate, gloves. Instructions for immersion dyeing, use and preparation of keltex, and warp painting.		 TIE-DYE STARTER SET
Six colors of Procion dye (½ ounce each, same colors as immersion set), a pound of washing soda, a pound of urea, waxed nylon and rubber bands for tieing, 6 pipets for applying color, gloves, and instructions. Will dye from 10–20 shirts (not included).		 TIE-DYE SUPER SET
Four colors of Procion dye (4 ounces each lemon yellow, warm red, fuchsia, turquoise), 5 pounds each washing soda and urea, waxed nylon and rubber bands for tieing, 24 pipets for applying color, 2 pairs gloves, and instructions. Super Set will dye at least 50 shirts (not included).
BATIK STARTER SET
Four ½ oz of Procion dye (black, clear blue, clear red, lemon yellow), a pound of washing soda, two brushes, a tjanting, a pound of batik wax, gloves and instructions.		 FABRIC ARTS STARTER SET
Five 2 ounce bottles of dye, 2 ounces of dilutant, ½ ounce Fabric Arts Resist, metal-tipped applicator, oblong foam brush, one third yard silk, instructions.		 MARBLING STARTER SET
Four one ounce bottles of Golden Fluid Acrylics, 4 ounces each marbling size and alum, bamboo stirring sticks, a comb for swirling, and instructions. You will need a flat pan to work in and cloth or paper to marble on.
